Rim brakes on a nice road frame in the 2020's? What the heck?
The majority of new "all-road" bikes embracing wider tires are automatically going to disc brakes. And disc brakes are an effective technology that we also adopt on other Soma frames. But what about cyclists who wants the benefits of wider road tires, but want the clean, classic look of a road caliper brakes (i.e. rim brakes) or just prefer how easy they are to adjust and maintain? The Pescadero is for these souls in mind.
Its road sport geometry allows you to pedal hard and long with less physical and mental fatigue. A great choice for gran fondos or all day rides on winding country roads. While you can throw on 700 x 28c tires like every other endurance road bike has these days, the Pescadero allows for plusher, more comfortable rubber up to 700 x 38c.

The Grand Randonneur is a road frame optimized to carry a front load. We have equipped it with rear rack mounts, but it feels best with a front load only. The version 3 of the "Grando" makes quite a few updates.
• The geometry is still low trail in the front, but we have tried to make the low trail aspects less pronounced than in version 1 and 2.
• We have tweaked the tubing mix to add stiffness at the bottom bracket, while keeping this frame our lightest model. Most sizes have a standard 25.4mm OD top tube, but sizes 58cm and up have more oversized tubes to better match up with larger riders.
