E-Bike Technician - Full Time

Come work in a spacious, professional, well-equipped shop with cutting-edge technology and lots of learning opportunities. Oak Bay Bikes is looking for a full-time, dedicated e-bike mechanic who is familiar with both Bosch and Shimano systems.

A Bit About the Job:

  • Checking over bikes, assessing wear or damage
  • Putting together quotes and contacting customers
  • Repairing all types of bikes - and guaranteeing your work
  • Writing detailed notes for the service team and customers
  • Diagnose, repair, or warranty Bosch and Shimano systems

A Bit About You:

  • You are self-motivated, positive, team-focused, and willing to pitch in
  • You have effective communication skills and hospitality skills
  • You are thorough and pay attention to the details
  • Previous bike mechanic experience required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A desire to continually learn proper service methods and new technologies

Assets:

  • Positive attitude
  • Familiar with Ascend RMS
  • E-bike repair experience
  • Enjoys cycling!

Bicycle Technician - Full Time

Come work in a spacious, professional, well-equipped shop with cutting-edge technology and lots of learning opportunities. Oak Bay Bikes is looking for a mechanically inclined individual who is stoked to work in a fast paced environment.

A Bit About the Job:

  • Follow prescribed service tickets to prepare bicycles for the processing line.
  • Depending on experience duties could include advanced technical skills of component replacement such as; brake bleeds, bearing installation, suspension overhauls, truing wheels, tubeless tire installation, derailleur tuning/adjustment, and final quality control check.
  • Daily maintenance and upkeep of your workstation.

A Bit About You:

  • You are Self-motivated, positive, team-focused, and willing to pitch in
  • You have effective communication skills and hospitality skills
  • You are thorough and pay attention to the details
  • Eagerness to learn the ins and outs of servicing bicycles
  • A desire to continually learn proper service methods and new technologies
  • You have at least 2 years experience working as a Bike Technician

  • Positive attitude
  • Familiar with Ascend RMS
  • High-end road bike repair experience
  • Mountain bike repair experience

Service Writer/Advisor - Full Time

Come work in a spacious, professional, well-equipped shop with cutting-edge technology and lots of learning opportunities. Oak Bay Bikes is looking for a service and sales inclined individual who is stoked to work in a fast paced environment.

A bit about the job:

  • Assess bikes and diagnose problems with bikes that come in for servicing
  • Communicate the service plan, timeline and provide quotes for the customer
  • Prepare detailed work orders for bicycles
  • Complete basic on-the-spot repairs such as flat repairs, chain replacements, installing new cables, etc.
  • Daily maintenance and upkeep of your workstation
  • Prior mechanic experience is preferred but not required

The ideal candidate does not need to have prior mechanic experiences though it is preferred. We offer a higher compensation level than most shops and will compensate accordingly.

Bike Tour Guide/Experiences Host- On Call

Oak Bay Bikes is looking for responsible, friendly, and skilled bike tour guides to provide unforgettable experiences for our guests. We're looking for people who can do one or more of the following: shred on MTB trails, regale an audience with historical facts, charm a crowd over drinks, or eat gravel for breakfast. If you know your way around a bike and can lead a group of people on a city, mountain, or gravel experience, we want you!
