BIKE FITTING

A proper bike fit is important for any cyclist that regularly spends time in the saddle, especially if they are riding longer distances. An improper fit can lead to discomfort and even, pain. Most people don't realize that a poor bike fit is often the cause of the discomfort that keeps them from  riding more often. 

At Oak Bay Bikes, our bike fitters use the most comprehensive fit systems available for all riders, regardless of experience level or riding style. We will factor in different variables specific to you to ensure that you get the perfect fit.

A bike fit will typically take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the individual and your needs. Our bike fitters will work with you to determine any of your current issues, and correct them with adjustments to your bike and riding position. No matter your riding aspirations, our goal is to minimize risk of injury, while optimizing your position on the bike.

TYPES OF BIKE FITS & PRICING:

The Standard Fit: $120 - 45 min session. The booking includes a 15 min set-up & tear down period between bookings. We use basic biomechanical assessments with you on your bike. This fit is designed to help mitigate risk of injury and maximize comfort on the bike.

The Performance fit: $275 - 1:30-1:45 session. We use a combination of biomechanical tools and video analysis to optimize your fit. We take into consideration injury mitigation followed by optimizing position for racing or performance.


WHAT TO EXPECT


All of our sessions take place on our comprehensive equipment. We will focus on correcting bio-mechanics, physiological issues, and body imbalances. To gather some information we will discuss any of your previous injuries, your concerns, as well as your cycling experience and cycling goals. From there we will perform a physical assessment to get an understanding of your range of motion and see if there are any limitations on the bike. 

Throughout the fit we will get you to put some power through the pedals. With this in mind please bring your bike and riding gear, including jersey, shorts, shoes, and pedals.
