The VO Campeur Rack is designed for touring and commuting. It features a fully tubular stainless steel design with an upper deck and lower rail system. The lower rail keeps weight low and allows for easy pannier removal, even with the top platform loaded with a tent or dry bag. Stainless steel construction with a lovely, high polish finish. It won't rust like painted steel racks or fatigue and crack like some aluminum and powder-coated or painted racks. Long, lower rail helps gets your pannier further back to eliminate heel clipping. Straight, upper arms securely mount to your bike's seat stay bosses. There are a pair of eyelets under the top platform for direct mounting to the fender. A single rear, threaded eyelet is for a light mount. The top platform is 10 cm wide and 27 cm long. From the top of the rack to the lowest hole is 36.5cm. The lower tangs feature four sets of holes to fit most bikes with 26", 650b, 700c, and 27" wheels. Simply trim what you don't need or use the bottommost hole for an easy and quick installation. This is a stainless steel front rack that is perfect for a handlebar bag. The decaleur (bag mount receiver) is integrated into the rack platform. The advantage to this system is: your bag-decaleur-rack combination is more solid, lighter, and less likely to rattle. Integration is the Holy Grail of Constucteur-style bikes, and we feel that these racks are a big step in that direction. All VO racks are made from polished tubular stainless steel, so they will never rust, flake, and can be re-polished to a mirror shine even after years of use. As with our other racks, there are light mounts on the side of the platform. The platform is 20.5 cm long and 10.2 cm wide. The rack weighs 592 gr with all the hardware. Most traditional style handlebar bags work perfectly with this rack (any bag around 20cm tall), but very tall bags may need a longer bag mount. If you plan on getting into offroad exploration, we suggest using a toe strap on the bottom of the bag to ensure it says put over the rough stuff. If you are getting a custom frame made, we suggest sending the rack to the builder beforehand. This rack requires the use of cantilever brake bosses. The VO Constructeur Rear Rack fills the need for an elegant, small, and sturdy rear rack for those of us who don't need a heavy duty touring rack. It will accept a set of small panniers for a multi-day trip, serve as a platform for a saddle bag, or carry a rack-top bag.
